Senior Immigration Attorney

Duties:
Interpret and explain complex immigration laws and recommend tailored legal strategies
Advocate on behalf of clients before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Independently manage a diverse caseload involving detained and non-detained clients
Conduct in-person intakes and legal assessments for individuals held in detention facilities
Draft and file a wide variety of immigration petitions and applications, including removal defense and family-based requests
Review and refine immigration filings to ensure accuracy and compliance
Engage with government entities, law enforcement, and nonprofit organizations to communicate legal developments and case progress
Consult with prospective clients to develop actionable legal strategies
Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court and USCIS interviews
Analyze client cases to identify eligibility for relief or immigration benefits
Compose legal memoranda and briefs in support of various applications and motions
Requirements:
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in immigration law
Demonstrated ability to independently advance legal matters and manage cases to resolution
Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with other attorneys and legal staff
High-level interpersonal and client communication skills
Comfortable working with vulnerable populations, including detained individuals
Preferred bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
Proficiency in legal case management systems is advantageous
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Admission to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
Certifications:
Active Bar membership in good standing (state unspecified)
Skills:
Strong legal writing and oral advocacy
Ability to think critically and develop creative case strategies
Competence in handling both affirmative and defensive immigration matters
Technological literacy for digital case tracking and document preparation
