Duties:

• Interpret and explain complex immigration laws and recommend tailored legal strategies

• Advocate on behalf of clients before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Independently manage a diverse caseload involving detained and non-detained clients

• Conduct in-person intakes and legal assessments for individuals held in detention facilities

• Draft and file a wide variety of immigration petitions and applications, including removal defense and family-based requests

• Review and refine immigration filings to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Engage with government entities, law enforcement, and nonprofit organizations to communicate legal developments and case progress

• Consult with prospective clients to develop actionable legal strategies

• Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony in court and USCIS interviews

• Analyze client cases to identify eligibility for relief or immigration benefits

• Compose legal memoranda and briefs in support of various applications and motions

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in immigration law

• Demonstrated ability to independently advance legal matters and manage cases to resolution

• Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with other attorneys and legal staff

• High-level interpersonal and client communication skills

• Comfortable working with vulnerable populations, including detained individuals

• Preferred bilingual fluency in English and Spanish

• Proficiency in legal case management systems is advantageous

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Admission to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in good standing (state unspecified)

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy

• Ability to think critically and develop creative case strategies

• Competence in handling both affirmative and defensive immigration matters

• Technological literacy for digital case tracking and document preparation
