A law firm seeks a motivated Litigation Attorney to join its Insurance Recovery and Bad Faith team in San Diego, CA. This role offers the opportunity to advocate for clients wrongfully denied insurance coverage or treated unfairly by insurers. The position is remote, with a preference for candidates based in California.

Duties

• Manage insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from inception to resolution.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft complex motions, including dispositive motions and motions to compel.
• Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, including insurance representatives.
• Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Analyze insurance policies and coverage issues to develop case strategies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• 5+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong motion-writing and legal research skills.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Background in insurance litigation at a defense firm is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the legal team.
• Willingness to travel for depositions, court appearances, and case work.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.

Skills
