A respected law firm in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with at least four years of experience in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will take an active role in representing clients across a wide array of business-related legal disputes, including contract matters, corporate governance, and professional liability claims. Duties
Represent clients in civil and commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, corporate finance and securities, fiduciary claims, and professional liability
Handle all phases of litigation, from case initiation through trial or resolution
Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
Participate in depositions, arbitrations, mediations, hearings, and trials
Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and regulatory agencies
Manage case files and deadlines with increasing responsibility over time
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil litigation at a private law firm
Trial experience and/or trial preparation involvement strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Strong academic record preferred
Certifications
Active license to practice law in Oregon (required)
Admission in Washington is a plus
