Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor Associate to join its Baltimore, MD office. The role focuses on traditional labor relations and providing legal counsel to employers on federal and Maryland workplace laws.

Duties

• Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
• Conduct research and draft legal documents.
• Represent management in NLRB elections.
• Advise employers on union organizing and corporate campaigns.
• Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements.
• Manage grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings.
• Obtain mass picketing injunctions.
• Review handbooks and policies for legal compliance.
• Conduct management training on labor relations and workplace issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 4+ years of traditional labor law experience preferred.
• MD Bar Admission required.
• Understanding of state and federal agency enforcement techniques preferred.

Skills

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel for business purposes.
