Environmental Law Associate Attorney

The candidate will assist public entities and private business clients in environmental matters before various state commissions, agencies, and the State Office of Administrative Hearings, including environmental permitting and environmental compliance matters. Develop testimony and conduct discovery in environmental permitting and enforcement cases. Develop contracts related to the transfer of environmental attributes. Communicate with clients and the managing attorney to understand the client’s concerns and provide sound legal advice. Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents, impacting the firm’s clients. Apply proficient writing skills and thorough knowledge of pertinent legal research to develop comprehensive legal briefs and persuasive writings. Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies and opposing counsel. Work both independently and as a contributing team member. Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from an accredited law school is required. Westlaw or Lexis Nexis experience is required. Should be licensed to practice law in the state of Texas or the ability to be licensed within six months. Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas is required.
