A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Rochester, NY. This role offers an opportunity for early-career litigators to gain hands-on experience in commercial and general civil litigation within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Duties

• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and procedural motions.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and briefs.
• Attend court conferences, assist with depositions, and participate in settlement discussions.
• Manage a varied caseload under the guidance of senior attorneys.
• Handle discovery processes, including document review and production.
• Support case strategy development and collaborate closely with partners and clients.
• Participate in practice group meetings and firm-wide training programs.
• Build strong relationships with clients through consistent communication and service delivery.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of commercial or civil litigation experience.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York State.
• Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and juggle multiple matters.
• Appellate, creditors' rights, family law, or labor & employment experience is a plus.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice in New York State.
