Job Overview: An established law firm is seeking an experienced litigation attorney with 5+ years of practice in insurance defense. The role will primarily focus on providing legal services in civil litigation, including case analysis, legal research, and the development of defense strategies for clients in various sectors such as Auto Liability, General Liability, Premises Liability, and Medical/Dental Malpractice. Attorneys in this position will be expected to handle their own caseload, attend court hearings, and manage client communications, while maintaining high levels of professionalism and meeting billable hour requirements.

Location:

• Las Vegas, Nevada

Duties:

• Analyze legal and factual issues, conduct thorough legal research, and independently develop defense strategies for clients.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, depositions, motions, and briefs to support defense strategies.
• Conduct depositions and handle other discovery matters as required by each case.
• Communicate effectively with clients, claims adjusters, and other legal professionals.
• Coordinate regularly with clients’ adjusters and representatives regarding case status.
• Liaise professionally with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Manage cases from inception to resolution, ensuring timely and efficient case disposition.
• Make court appearances as needed, both in-person and virtually.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of witnesses and evidence for trials, hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Log and record billable hours in compliance with firm and client billing guidelines; achieve monthly billing expectations (175 hours per month).

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant litigation and insurance defense experience.
• Active membership in good standing with the Nevada State Bar (dual license in California and Nevada preferred).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure legal environment.
• Must be available for court appearances and hearings, both in-person and virtually.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other legal technology/software.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload with varying deadlines and priorities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited, ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Nevada State Bar License (Required)
• Dual license in California and Nevada is a plus.
