Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Corporate Labor Transactions Associate in New York. The associate will collaborate with senior lawyers on corporate, finance, and restructuring matters, advising clients on complex pension issues in transactions, financings, and restructurings.

Duties

• Advise on multiemployer and single-employer defined benefit pension plans.
• Analyze pension liabilities, including exposure from multiemployer plan participation and withdrawal.
• Support transactional teams in evaluating pension liabilities during diligence and deal structuring.
• Develop strategies to allocate, mitigate, or eliminate pension liabilities in acquisitions, financings, and restructurings.
• Address withdrawal liability disputes and advise on compliance with ERISA and PBGC requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in employee benefits and ERISA.
• Experience with defined benefit pension plans.
• Familiarity with pension issues in corporate transactions and/or restructurings.
• Strong analytical skills with financial and actuarial concepts related to pension liabilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in New York.
