A law firm seeks a lateral partner or senior attorney to join their Taxation and Estates practice in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in trust and estate planning, fiduciary tax, and complex valuation issues, with a significant portable book of business.

Duties

• Engage in complex trust and estate planning and administration.
• Prepare gift and estate tax returns and handle estate controversies and audits.
• Advise high net worth individuals and families on tax and wealth planning.
• Provide guidance on income tax, transfer tax, and charitable planning.
• Manage pass-through entity and business succession planning.
• Handle Federal tax planning for individuals and entities.
• Participate in transactional matters.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in taxation and estates.
• Significant portable book of business with growth potential.
• Experience with high net worth clients.
• New York Bar admission required; additional state admissions are a plus.

Education

• LL.M. in taxation is a plus.

Certifications

• New York Bar admission.

Skills

• Strong client interaction and responsibility management.
• Expertise in complex trust and estate planning.
• Proficiency in fiduciary tax and accounting.
