Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney(Hybrid)

Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based law firm seeks a litigation associate to join its civil defense team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with up to eight years of post-bar experience who excel in written advocacy, strategic thinking, and litigation management. The role offers hybrid flexibility, ongoing training, and a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Duties:

• Manage litigation matters from discovery through trial in collaboration with clients and co-counsel

• Prepare legal documents, including discovery responses, motions, and court filings

• Organize and maintain case materials; liaise with support staff to ensure smooth workflow

• Lead document reviews, evaluating relevance, privilege, and redaction needs

• Assist in witness preparation for depositions and court appearances

• Attend depositions and contribute to case strategy

• Track and report billable time accurately for client invoicing

Requirements:

• Admission to the State Bar of California and active good standing

• 0-8 years of litigation experience, preferably in civil defense

• Demonstrated legal writing and analytical ability

• Capable of handling depositions and client communication independently

• Exposure to carrier reporting protocols is preferred

• Prior experience preparing dispositive motions (e.g., demurrers, MSJs) is advantageous

• Proficiency in written and oral discovery processes

• Spanish language proficiency is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Clear and persuasive written communication

• Strong organizational and case management capabilities

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a legal team

• Technological proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems
