Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Matrimonial Attorney in Lake Success, NY. The firm is expanding its Matrimonial Department and is looking for an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional legal services.

Duties

• Prepare pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and briefs.
• Assist with preparations for depositions and trials.
• Appear in court in Nassau and Suffolk Counties and New York City boroughs.
• Manage cases at all litigation stages and maintain client communications.
• Organize and track case statuses and handle pre-trial court appearances.
• Represent clients in divorce, custody, child support, and family matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admittance to the New York Bar.
• 1-3 years of relevant legal experience.
• Knowledge of Supreme Court and Family Court procedures.
• Experience in a family/divorce clinic or internship/clerkship with Judges preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.)

Certifications

• New York Bar admission

Skills

• Superb writing and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Outlook; Litify or similar platform a plus.
