A law firm seeks a motivated and ambitious Associate Attorney to join its thriving insurance and public entity defense practice in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will have 0-10 years of experience and a strong desire to engage in civil litigation. This position offers immediate exposure to court hearings, depositions, and a variety of cases, providing a great opportunity to grow within a dynamic team environment.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda.
• Attend and represent clients in court hearings and depositions in state and federal courts.
• Contribute to case strategy and development under the guidance of senior attorneys.
• Maintain and meet the firm’s billable hour requirements.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to efficiently manage caseloads and provide excellent client service.
• Participate in the analysis of legal issues and help draft strategies for case progression.

Requirements:

• 0-10 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong desire to litigate.
• Proven interest in the insurance defense and public entity defense fields.
• Ability to manage and handle multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the State of California.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Experience or willingness to engage in court appearances, depositions, and trials.
• Knowledge of litigation strategies and case management.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple cases.
