A fast-growing Virginia law firm is seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to join its Fairfax-based team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on meaningful domestic matters such as divorce, custody, and adoptions, with courtroom exposure and the ability to earn commission on all billable work. Location:

• Fairfax, VA

Duties:

• Represent clients in domestic law matters, including:

  • Divorce

  • Child custody and support

  • Adoptions

  • Protective orders

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Attend return hearings, pretrial conferences, and court appearances

• Maintain clear communication with clients and ensure timely case updates

• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to strategize and resolve cases

• Manage deadlines and ensure timely filings in a high-volume practice

Requirements:

• Member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar (or recently sat for the Virginia Bar Exam)

• Demonstrated interest in family law and litigation

• Must own reliable transportation for court appearances and client meetings

• Comfortable handling a full and active caseload

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar (required or pending results)

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing and courtroom communication skills

• Proficient in legal research with a strong understanding of domestic law

• Highly organized and capable of managing competing deadlines

• Spanish language skills preferred, but not required

• Collaborative, client-centered approach
