Job Title: Litigation Attorney - Real Estate

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in San Diego, CA, is currently seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with a strong interest in real estate law. The role offers a unique opportunity to handle a diverse array of real estate disputes, from investment and ownership conflicts to landlord-tenant and boundary issues. Duties:

• Advocate for clients in court, including motion practice, depositions, and trials

• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and motions

• Attend mediation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution proceedings

• Develop legal strategies for a variety of real estate disputes

• Draft persuasive legal documents such as briefs, memoranda, and settlement proposals

• Manage a litigation caseload independently with administrative support

• Interface with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders

• Provide legal analysis and updates to clients regularly

• Participate in business development and client engagement activities, if interested

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation

• Direct courtroom experience, including handling motions and trials

• Strong understanding or willingness to develop knowledge in real estate law, including:

  • Real estate fraud

  • Buyer-seller disputes

  • Quiet title and boundary issues

  • Landlord-side unlawful detainers

  • Mortgage-related litigation

• Proficient in legal research, motion practice, and case strategy

• Capable of working both independently and within a team structure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California

• In good standing with the State Bar

Skills:

• Strong written and oral advocacy

• Technologically proficient in virtual litigation tools and remote collaboration
