A law firm seeks a mid-level Technology Transactions and Licensing Associate for its Portland office. The successful candidate will engage with innovative startups, growth-stage companies, and established global enterprises on complex transactions and product launches.

Duties

• Advise clients on commercial and licensing agreements.
• Provide counsel on intellectual property matters and product development.
• Draft and negotiate contracts related to software, hardware, and digital assets.
• Manage multiple client demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with teams on cross-border transactions and international licensing.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Deep knowledge of intellectual property and commercial contract law.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and open source license frameworks.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented approach.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the bar.

Skills

• Technical background or experience in cloud computing, semiconductor, hardware, AI, and cybersecurity sectors preferred.
• Experience with IP workflows in M&A or financing transactions.
