Sexual Violence Investigative Officer
Duties: Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Affairs, will effectively, appropriately, and fairly address and resolve complaints of sexual assault and sexual violence made against students enrolled at the University. The SVIO will have responsibility for determining whether complaints fall within the purview of Penn’s Sexual Violence, Relationship Violence and Stalking Policy. Maintaining confidentiality, and acting with sensitivity, discretion, and neutrality, will lead investigations of sexual violence complaints in a manner consistent with the University’s procedures and federal guidance. Will present written investigative reports and recommendations to the parties and/or members of the Hearing Panel. Will aid with training co-investigators, advisers, and panelists. Will oversee the operation of the office and provide administrative support to the Hearing Panels, Disciplinary Hearing Officer and Disciplinary Appellate Officer. Will work with campus resource offices to prevent sexual violence and misconduct and aid in ensuring that the appropriate services and supports are in place for complainants and respondents.
