Job Overview
A law firm seeks a highly motivated Counsel candidate to join its Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group in Irvine, CA. The role involves leading the coordination and management of local counsel opinions within the Financial Services Team.

Duties

• Lead the preparation, review, and management of local counsel opinions.
• Analyze opinion requests and identify jurisdiction-specific issues.
• Serve as the primary contact for referring counsel and negotiate opinion language.
• Partner with deal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of opinions.
• Maintain strong knowledge of opinion practice and enforceability concepts.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and best practices.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in equipment finance, asset-based lending, or commercial finance.
• Experience with commercial lending local counsel opinions; real estate opinion experience preferred.
• Excellent judgment and meticulous legal analysis skills.
• Ability to manage complex workflows and support multiple transactions.
• Strong communication skills across offices and jurisdictions.
• Admitted to practice, or eligible for admission, in the relevant jurisdiction.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
