Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is currently seeking an Associate Attorney or Patent Agent with experience in patent prosecution and litigation to join their dynamic team, focusing on Electrical Engineering & Software. Duties:

• Handle patent prosecution, including drafting patent applications and responding to office actions.
• Assist with litigation matters, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in patent disputes.
• Work closely with clients, providing strategic counsel on intellectual property protection and enforcement.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to understand and interpret complex technologies in software, electrical engineering, and related fields.
• Analyze patent portfolios and assess potential risks, advising clients on opportunities for patent protection.
• Stay up to date on evolving laws and regulations in patent law and technology.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in patent prosecution with a solid understanding of intellectual property law.
• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical fields required.
• Experience with networking, wireless technology (3G/4G/5G), or similar technologies is highly preferred.
• 2-6 years of legal experience in patent law (Patent Agent and Associate Attorney applicants welcome).
• Admission to the USPTO is mandatory; Bar licensure in California is a plus.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado or have the ability to become licensed as soon as possible
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (for Associate applicants).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical discipline required.

Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO (mandatory for all candidates).
• Bar admission in Colorado state (California preferred for Associate applicants).

• Expertise in patent drafting and prosecution processes.
• Ability to interpret complex technical materials and provide clear legal advice.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
