Job Title: Patent Prosecution And Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution and Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. This role is focused on patent prosecution and litigation, specializing in either Electrical Engineering & Software or Mechanical disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in patent law, a technical degree, and experience with patent application drafting and IP matters.

Duties:

• Handle patent prosecution and litigation matters across various technologies, including electrical engineering, software, and mechanical fields.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement patent strategies.
• Manage intellectual property portfolios and guide patent rights and protections.
• Represent clients in patent disputes, including patent litigation.
• Conduct legal research and draft correspondence, legal opinions, and memoranda.
• Provide general intellectual property counsel to clients in various industries.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including application drafting.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado (CO).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent academic credentials with an analytical and detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Experience with various forms of intellectual property law is a plus.

Education:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Physics, Mathematics) is required.

Certifications:

• Must be registered with the USPTO.
• Active Bar membership in Colorado (CO).
