Job Overview:
A law firm is looking for a Patent Agent to join their Electrical Engineering & Software team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in patent law and technical expertise in electrical engineering, software, or similar fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent prosecution and litigation, along with experience or interest in emerging technologies such as wireless communication (5G, 6G).

Location:

• Denver, CO

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, software, and related fields
• Represent clients in patent litigation matters
• Provide counsel on intellectual property strategy
• Prepare and file responses to office actions with the USPTO
• Manage patent portfolios and conduct patent searches
• Engage with clients to understand their technical needs and patent requirements
• Perform legal research on patent law and technology developments
• Communicate complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams for patent protection

Requirements:

• 2-6 years of experience in patent prosecution and litigation
• Must be admitted to the USPTO
• Experience in electrical engineering, software, or related technical fields
• Design engineering experience with chip companies is a plus
• Experience with wireless communication technologies (5G, 6G, 3GPP standards) is desirable but not required
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• Organizational and analytical skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Certifications:

• USPTO Registration required

Skills:

• Patent prosecution and litigation experience
• Expertise in patent law and intellectual property
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering or software
• Legal research and analysis
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral
• Client counseling and strategic guidance
