A growing law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney licensed in Illinois to support a high-volume litigation team focused on debtor representation in collection cases. This fully remote position is suited for an attorney experienced in state litigation who is ready to manage cases independently, contribute to a fast-paced multistate practice, and help lead a team handling civil matters on behalf of individuals and clients involved in collection defense.

Duties

• Represent debtors in state court litigation involving collection-related matters

• Manage a high volume of civil litigation cases independently

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence

• Participate in hearings, settlement negotiations, and other court proceedings

• Oversee progress of cases and ensure deadlines and procedural requirements are met

• Coordinate with litigation support staff to maintain efficiency and compliance

• Collaborate with legal team on case strategies and process improvements

• Provide client updates and maintain professional communication

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Illinois

• Experience handling state litigation matters (civil or collections)

• Demonstrated ability to manage large caseloads efficiently in a remote environment

• Ability to lead or supervise legal support staff is preferred

• Familiarity with debtor/creditor litigation is a plus

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois

• Additional bar admissions are a plus
