Duties:

• Manage and litigate civil defense and commercial matters, including insurance coverage disputes and bad faith claims

• Advise clients on maritime, transportation, and complex litigation issues across state and federal jurisdictions

• Prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, depositions, and trials

• Collaborate closely with colleagues and clients to develop a case strategy

• Maintain and potentially expand a portable book of business

• Engage with firm leadership to ensure alignment with business development goals

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in civil litigation, particularly involving insurance coverage, maritime, and transportation law

• Ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution

• Strong oral and written advocacy skills

• Interest in contributing to a collegial and collaborative team environment

• An existing portable business (full or partial) is highly desirable

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills:

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management tools
