Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced IP litigator in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will manage all phases of intellectual property litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal, while collaborating with clients to develop case strategies and manage complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.

Duties

• Manage patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation in federal courts and PTAB, with potential ITC cases.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, Markman briefs, and other pleadings.
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Develop and execute case strategy, including damages theories.
• Coordinate with technical experts and in-house counsel.
• Mentor junior associates and supervise document review teams.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship management.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership.
• 5-8 years of IP litigation experience.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership.

Skills

• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills.
• Relevant IP industry experience preferred.
• Trial or appellate argument experience preferred.
• Experience with ITC Section 337 investigations or TTAB/PTAB proceedings preferred.
