Immigration Attorney - EOIR
A respected law firm in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Immigration Litigation Associate to manage a dynamic caseload focused on removal defense and related immigration matters. This role provides a significant opportunity to deepen litigation experience within the immigration court system while collaborating with a seasoned legal team. The position involves direct representation in EOIR proceedings, legal strategy development, client interaction, and preparation of complex applications, offering a rewarding path for growth in a mission-driven environment.
Advocate for clients in non-detained and detained immigration proceedings before EOIR and the BIA
Formulate legal strategies and present options to clients in clear, actionable terms
Conduct in-person visits and intake assessments at detention centers
Prepare and review filings for a range of immigration relief, including removal defense and family-based petitions
Engage with community stakeholders, including law enforcement and advocacy organizations, on evolving immigration policies
Interview potential clients and provide legal consultations to determine strategic case pathways
Train and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS interviews
Draft persuasive legal briefs tailored to the facts and legal issues of each case
Maintain responsibility for a docket of active cases from initiation through resolution
Collaborate with legal assistants and attorneys in a team-oriented setting
Minimum of 1-5 years of hands-on immigration law practice
Active Bar license in good standing within any U.S. jurisdiction
Demonstrated ability to handle EOIR-related matters independently
Strong time management and organizational skills for managing multiple cases
Professionalism and composure in high-stakes litigation environments
Commitment to immigrant rights and legal advocacy
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state or territory
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
Comfort with public speaking and client-facing consultations
Familiarity with immigration legal frameworks, including family-based, humanitarian, and naturalization applications
Experience using legal case management software tools
