Job Overview:

A law firm headquartered in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a driven and client-focused Immigration Associate Attorney to join its expanding legal team. This position offers a remote work structure with occasional travel for immigration proceedings. The ideal candidate is passionate about immigrant rights, thrives in a fast-paced legal setting, and is committed to delivering exceptional service and advocacy. Spanish language proficiency and prior immigration law experience are preferred.

Duties:

  • Represent individuals and families in immigration proceedings before USCIS and EOIR nationwide

  • Develop creative legal strategies tailored to each client’s needs

  • Draft motions, legal briefs, petitions, and filings with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Maintain strong, consistent communication with clients regarding case updates and next steps

  • Collaborate closely with support staff and paralegals to manage workflow and deadlines

  • Monitor developments in immigration law and policy to adapt strategies accordingly

  • Travel as needed for court appearances, client meetings, and related responsibilities

  • Communicate with Spanish-speaking clients, where applicable

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law and in good standing with any U.S. State Bar (Texas preferred)

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in immigration law (additional experience welcome)

  • Availability to travel for in-person representation and firm initiatives

  • Commitment to high standards of client care and legal ethics

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced caseload with flexibility and responsiveness

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership (Texas preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and research capabilities

  • Case strategy development and problem-solving mindset

  • Fluent or conversational Spanish is highly advantageous

  • Compassionate communication and client-focused attitude

  • Organizational efficiency in managing multiple active cases
