Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney to join its Title IX and Investigations practice in Walnut Creek, CA. This role involves providing legal counsel to public school districts and other public agencies across California. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for handling Title IX and investigation-related matters, along with experience in administrative hearings.

Duties:

• Advise public school districts and other public agencies on labor and employment matters, including hiring, contracts, and compliance with legal standards.

• Conduct thorough investigations related to Title IX, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct claims.

• Represent clients in administrative hearings, disciplinary proceedings, and other legal matters.

• Assist with collective bargaining, contract grievances, and policy development for public agencies.

• Provide training and guidance on Title IX compliance, employment law, and related legal issues.

• Draft legal documents, including policies, contracts, and reports for public agency clients.

• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop strategic legal solutions.

Requirements:

• 5 to 7 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on Title IX investigations and labor/employment matters.

• Strong understanding of public agency law and education-related legal issues.

• Experience conducting workplace or institutional investigations.

• Administrative hearing experience preferred.

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Commitment to serving public institutions and communities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar (required).
