Job Overview

A law firm seeks a qualified associate attorney to support its New York practice. This position offers a competitive benefits package and requires handling a significant volume of creditor's rights cases. The role may involve remote work with travel around the state for hearings.

Duties

• Handle a significant volume of mortgage foreclosure and collections cases.
• Resolve issues in discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
• Make court appearances and travel as required.
• Develop relationships to be viewed as a trusted partner and advisor.
• Assist in growing the firm's presence as a top-performing firm.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the NY state Bar.
• Licensed or able to obtain a license in New York federal district and bankruptcy courts.
• 5+ years of experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections.
• Familiarity with the New York legal system.
• Strong leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar License in the state of NY (required).
• Additional state licenses are a plus.

Skills

• Knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred.
• Appellate experience preferred.
• Commitment to superior client support and unfettered judgment.
