Job Overview:
A law firm based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate attorney with specialized experience in transactional tax matters, particularly within the energy sector. The role is designed for candidates who bring both technical acumen and practical insight to structuring complex transactions and advising on partnership tax matters. This position offers the opportunity for extensive client interaction and cross-office collaboration, supporting clients across a broad range of energy-related tax matters.

Duties:

• Advise clients on transactional tax issues, with a particular emphasis on the energy industry

• Draft and negotiate partnership agreements and related documentation

• Prepare or contribute to the development of tax opinions

• Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm on multifaceted transactions

• Participate in client meetings and assist with business development initiatives

• Engage in professional development activities, including speaking engagements and writing articles

Requirements:

• Post-JD experience in a transactional tax practice

• Substantive exposure to partnership tax matters and drafting of tax-related documents

• Experience working with clients in the energy industry is strongly preferred

• Strong command of tax structuring and compliance in complex deal environments

• Proven ability to handle sophisticated client matters independently and collaboratively

• Prior experience in a law firm or a large accounting advisory firm

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Strong academic performance is required

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia

• Must be in good standing with the applicable bar authority
