Job Overview

A law firm seeks a commercial creditors' rights associate to join the Litigation team in New York, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and engage in client-facing activities within a multidisciplinary practice.

Duties

• Represent secured creditors, landlords, and asset purchasers in workouts and restructurings.
• Participate in all phases of Chapter 11 cases.
• Manage cases, including depositions and court appearances.
• Negotiate settlements and correspond with opposing counsel.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of bankruptcy experience.
• Knowledge of creditors' rights, bankruptcy law, and the Uniform Commercial Code.
• Experience in equipment leasing, commercial finance law, and litigation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

• J.D. degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, New York.

Skills

• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in case management and legal research.
