A law firm is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Health Care Professional Liability Attorney to join their team in St. Louis. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or related civil litigation, with a proven track record of managing all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation. This role requires a strong academic background, excellent writing and communication skills, and admission to the Kansas or Missouri Bar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in health care professional liability cases, including medical malpractice and personal injury claims.
• Manage all elements of case work-up and trial preparation, from initial case assessment to final trial.
• Draft and review discovery requests and responses, motions, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Handle court appearances, including pre-trial conferences, hearings, and trials.
• Develop and implement case strategies and coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case arguments and strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and case law in health care professional liability.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Provide high-quality legal representation while managing case timelines and deadlines.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or related civil litigation.
• Proven ability to manage all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation.
• Strong academic record with competitive law school achievement.
• Excellent high-level writing and communication skills.
• Admission to the Kansas or Missouri Bar.
• Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic advice.
• Demonstrated skill in drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and handling depositions and court appearances.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in Kansas or Missouri.
