Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a dedicated and skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join a team specializing in public entity law. This full-time, remote-based role is based in Iselin, NJ, and will focus on civil defense litigation and municipal government law. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in litigation and be proficient in legal research, case management, and courtroom preparation. The firm fosters a collaborative work environment where attorneys contribute to case strategy and provide impactful legal services to public entities.

Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis related to ongoing litigation matters.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage and organize case files to ensure smooth case progression.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials, providing support in case preparation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to strategize and develop case tactics.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Maintain open communication with team members, clients, and external stakeholders throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation and/or municipal government law.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Proven experience with case management, including organizing legal documents and case files.
• Ability to effectively prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Strong communication skills for working with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Familiarity with public entity law and civil defense litigation is highly preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in legal research and using case management software.
• Strong courtroom skills, including experience with depositions, hearings, and trials.
