Job Title: Private Client Trusts And Estates Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Boston, MA, seeks a mid-level associate to join its distinguished Private Wealth Planning group. The selected candidate will support a well-established practice dedicated to guiding individuals, families, fiduciaries, and tax-exempt organizations through complex estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer strategies. This opportunity offers exposure to a wide array of legal matters involving high-net-worth clients, intergenerational planning, charitable giving, and tax-efficient structures, all within a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment.
Duties:
Develop and implement sophisticated estate and gift plans tailored for high-net-worth individuals and families
Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related documents
Manage all aspects of estate and trust administration
Provide strategic advice on federal and state tax implications associated with wealth transfers
Support clients with succession planning, lifetime gifting, and philanthropic planning
Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, real estate, and litigation practices to support integrated client needs
Assist with planning related to retirement assets and family-owned businesses
Participate in firm-sponsored professional development and client engagement initiatives
Requirements:
3 to 6 years of focused experience in trusts and estates law
Prior involvement with high-net-worth client matters
In-depth knowledge of federal estate and gift tax regulations
Familiarity with state-specific estate planning rules and fiduciary law (Massachusetts preferred)
Strong interpersonal communication and client advisory skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to the Massachusetts Bar in good standing is mandatory
Skills:
Precision in legal drafting and document review
Research and analysis in complex tax and estate matters
Strategic thinking with a client-centric approach
Excellent verbal and written communication
Adaptability to changing client needs and regulatory developments
