A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Counsel to join its Intellectual Property Practice Group. The role offers the opportunity to lead complex patent litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal, working alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking team. This position is ideal for a seasoned attorney who thrives in fast-paced environments and brings deep experience in patent litigation strategy and proceedings.
Lead and manage complex patent litigation cases in federal courts and before the USPTO
Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for litigation and arbitration
Conduct and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for trial or hearings
Develop infringement and invalidity claim charts and litigation strategy
Manage claim construction proceedings, including Markman hearings
Prepare for and execute trial proceedings, including exhibit lists, evidentiary motions, and witness examination
Handle inter partes reviews and coordinate overall litigation tactics
Draft appellate briefs for Federal Circuit appeals
Supervise and mentor junior attorneys throughout case lifecycle
Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel effectively
Minimum of 10 years of experience in patent litigation
Significant experience in:
Pleadings and motion practice
Claim construction
Discovery and depositions
Inter partes reviews
Trial preparation and execution
Proven ability to manage complex litigation independently
Patent trial experience preferred
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) strongly preferred
Background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science highly preferred (or substantial experience in those disciplines)
Exceptional legal research and writing ability
Strategic thinker with superior judgment and litigation instincts
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills
