Profile

A law firm seeks a driven and empathetic Intake Lawyer to join its team, specializing in criminal, family, and probate law. This role is based in Birmingham, AL, with the option for partial remote work. The firm values attorneys who are dedicated to providing clients with compassionate and comprehensive guidance, ensuring an exceptional experience from the initial contact through case resolution.

Duties

• Conduct intake consultations with potential clients, assessing and triaging cases to determine suitability for the firm
• Collaborate closely with the Intake Department and other attorneys to streamline client onboarding
• Translate complex legal information for clients, ensuring they fully understand their options
• Maintain a commitment to excellent client communication and relationship management
• Uphold the firm’s values in every client interaction, providing exceptional service and representation

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with the State Bar (no prior disciplinary actions)
• Experience in client-focused or sales-oriented roles, preferably within a legal environment
• Demonstrated success in a fast-paced work setting, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Background in criminal defense, family, or probate law preferred, with a strong passion for client advocacy
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Windows-based environments and familiarity with Clio or similar case management software

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active bar license

Certifications

• Active Bar membership, with no pending or prior disciplinary history
