Job Overview:
A well-established and fast-growing immigration law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join its legal team in San Jose, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in removal defense and family-based immigration to contribute meaningfully to client success while advancing their legal career. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with legal staff, and serve as a key legal representative for both detained and non-detained clients.
Location:

Duties:
Conduct strategic immigration consultations and advise clients on appropriate legal pathways
Represent detained and non-detained clients before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Manage full case lifecycle including intake, legal research, filing, and court representation
Prepare and review immigration applications and legal briefs for submission
Visit detention centers and conduct intake with detained individuals
Develop legal strategies for USCIS interviews and courtroom proceedings
Guide and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony
Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related issues
Deliver presentations on changes in immigration law to community and professional partners
Requirements:
5–8 years of experience practicing immigration law
Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
Proficiency with case management software is a plus
Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR representation, Detained & Non-Detained Cases, Naturalization, and other USCIS filings
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. state
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
High attention to detail and organizational competence
Skilled in legal strategy development, brief writing, and courtroom advocacy
Ability to conduct legal analysis and identify favorable case outcomes
