Job Overview:
A well-established and fast-growing immigration law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join its legal team in San Jose, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in removal defense and family-based immigration to contribute meaningfully to client success while advancing their legal career. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with legal staff, and serve as a key legal representative for both detained and non-detained clients.

Location:

• San Jose, California

Duties:

• Conduct strategic immigration consultations and advise clients on appropriate legal pathways

• Represent detained and non-detained clients before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Manage full case lifecycle including intake, legal research, filing, and court representation

• Prepare and review immigration applications and legal briefs for submission

• Visit detention centers and conduct intake with detained individuals

• Develop legal strategies for USCIS interviews and courtroom proceedings

• Guide and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony

• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related issues

• Deliver presentations on changes in immigration law to community and professional partners

Requirements:

• 5–8 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

• Proficiency with case management software is a plus

• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR representation, Detained & Non-Detained Cases, Naturalization, and other USCIS filings

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. state

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• High attention to detail and organizational competence

• Skilled in legal strategy development, brief writing, and courtroom advocacy

• Ability to conduct legal analysis and identify favorable case outcomes
