Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with 4-6 years of privacy and cybersecurity experience to join the Technology Transactions, Cybersecurity & Privacy Practice Group in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cybersecurity compliance, counseling, and incident response, with familiarity in U.S. state, federal, and international privacy regulations.

Duties

• Advise on cybersecurity compliance and incident response.
• Conduct data breach investigations and notifications.
• Perform privacy assessments and data mapping exercises.
• Develop security and privacy policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of relevant experience in a law firm setting.
• Strong writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Active member of the Illinois Bar in good standing.

Education

• JD from an ABA-approved law school with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• CIPP or other relevant industry certifications valued.

Skills

• Experience with U.S. and international privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Interest or capabilities in technology, licensing, or professional services.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
