Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm based in New York City, NY is currently seeking a highly motivated legal professional to join its fund finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex financial transactions involving premier clients, including top-tier asset managers and financial institutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in transactional finance, a proactive approach to client service, and a keen interest in developing deep industry knowledge within fund finance.

Duties:

• Advise clients on structuring and executing fund-level financing transactions

• Draft and negotiate credit agreements and other related financing documents

• Manage and close complex syndicated lending and asset-based lending deals

• Support legal due diligence processes in fund finance transactions

• Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel on cross-border financings

• Guide compliance and regulatory matters related to fund finance

• Interact with institutional lenders, investment funds, and asset managers

• Handle NAV-based, subscription-line, and other specialized finance structures

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of legal experience in a reputable law firm or financial institution

• Substantial exposure to one or more of the following:

  • Syndicated lending

  • Asset-based or commercial lending

  • Leveraged finance

  • CLOs

  • NAV financings

  • Fund formation or acquisition financings

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

• Detail-oriented and highly organized with sound legal judgment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for waiver/in-house registration)

Skills:

• Advanced drafting and negotiation capabilities

• Strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional legal team

• Proficiency in managing fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

• Familiarity with evolving fund finance market trends and structures
