Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is seeking a Life Sciences Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of healthcare and life sciences litigation, including medical malpractice, senior living and long-term care litigation, medical device product liability, and broader healthcare disputes. Flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements are available.

Location:

• San Francisco, California

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and related legal documents

• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution

• Collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff across various offices and departments

• Communicate with clients to provide case updates and develop litigation strategies

• Engage in discovery processes, motion practice, and trial preparation

Requirements:

• 2–8 years of defense litigation experience

• Experience handling medical malpractice, senior living and long-term care litigation, or other healthcare-related cases required

• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required

• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses preferred

• Courtroom experience, including handling court appearances and depositions, preferred

• Trial experience or second-chair trial experience considered a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the State of California

Skills:

• Superior analytical and critical thinking abilities

• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines independently
