A prominent law firm located in New Orleans, LA, is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join its team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on diverse cases across multiple areas, including insurance defense, municipal litigation, commercial disputes, product liability defense, and more. This position is ideal for an individual with 1-6 years of legal experience who is eager to contribute to complex litigation matters, collaborate with experienced professionals, and grow within a dynamic legal environment.

Duties:

• Assist senior attorneys in the representation of institutional clients in various legal areas, including insurance defense, commercial litigation, personal injury, and business transactions.

• Draft and file legal pleadings, motions, and memoranda.

• Propound and respond to discovery requests.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.

• Provide trial preparation support and assist in courtroom proceedings.

• Manage case files and track the progress of ongoing cases.

Requirements:

• 1-6 years of experience in litigation, particularly in defense or general litigation.

• Proven ability to handle a wide range of legal matters, with experience in depositions, discovery, and trial preparation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in legal research and case management software.

• Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and valid license to practice law in Louisiana.

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing and research skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Knowledge of trial procedures and litigation strategy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

Job Location:

• New Orleans, LA (required to be based in this location, no remote options).
