Job Overview:
A prominent law firm specializing in bodily injury and catastrophic injury cases is actively seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Broward County. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse and high-volume caseload, with a focus on third-party insurance defense. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and case management skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

Duties:

• Lead all phases of litigation, from case evaluation and pleadings to trial, managing a high-volume caseload with attention to deadlines and prioritization.
• Defend and conduct depositions, and prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other legal documents.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with insurance carriers and clients regarding case status and ongoing activities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting monthly billing requirements.
• Engage with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and internal staff professionally.
• Demonstrate strong oral advocacy skills and perform persuasive arguments in various legal proceedings.
• Exercise critical thinking and sound judgment throughout case management, consistently displaying a proactive approach.

Requirements:

• Active Florida Bar membership, in good standing.
• 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense, with at least 3 years focused on third-party defense.
• Ability to handle a large caseload independently and efficiently.
• Strong organizational and case management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential; familiarity with Time Matters is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to think critically, make decisive judgments, and stay motivated in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

• Proven litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Persuasive oral advocacy and effective communication.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Familiarity with relevant legal technologies and case management software.
