LITC Staff Attorney
The candidate will serve clients with federal income tax disputes and some California state tax disputes through our Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Will handle tax controversy cases, whether in Audit, Appeals or U.S. Tax Court, and to implement appropriate collections alternatives, whether installment agreements or offers in compromise with the IRS. In addition, will help coordinate outreach events and help develop outreach materials. Ability to understand the objectives of tax law. should be licensed in California or eligible for immediate admission by reciprocity are preferred, but will consider 2020 spring graduates. Must have demonstrated interest in, and commitment to, the needs of low-income/vulnerable clients. should have proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Office. The ability to speak the Spanish language is a desirable.
