Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is actively seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney I to join its dynamic legal team. This full-time role is ideal for a licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience in family law practice. The attorney will be supported by firm-generated leads and a collaborative environment, allowing for a mix of self-sourced and firm-provided work. This position emphasizes trial, mediation, and client engagement excellence while offering professional development, autonomy, and competitive compensation.

Location:

  • Scottsdale, AZ

Duties:

  • Handle complex family law cases from intake through resolution

  • Conduct and manage mediations with a strong record of success

  • Represent clients in trials with demonstrated positive outcomes

  • Draft and review legal memoranda, briefs, and related documents

  • Engage in legal marketing and business development efforts

  • Perform discovery and due diligence in litigation preparation

  • Communicate with empathy and professionalism during client interactions

  • Manage consult scheduling to meet production/collection goals

  • Convert consultations to clients at a rate consistent with firm expectations

  • Collaborate with legal staff to ensure high productivity and utilization

  • Accurately maintain case records and billing information in the case management system

  • Share overflow work as needed to support firm-wide objectives

  • Promote brand awareness through blogs, social media, and community involvement

  • Solicit client reviews and testimonials post-engagement

  • Participate in firm events and leadership opportunities

  • Meet minimum billing expectations: 1,500 annual billable hours; 1,400 collected hours

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing family law

  • Ability to independently manage and resolve complex legal matters

  • Experience handling a high caseload with minimal supervision

  • Strong mediation and litigation background

  • Business development skills or willingness to learn

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the practicing state (or eligibility for reciprocal admission)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and research capabilities

  • Advanced oral advocacy and negotiation skills

  • Strong organizational and time management ability

  • Competence in empathetic client communication

  • Familiarity with legal technology and case management systems
