Duties

• Manage assigned matters from intake through resolution with autonomy and accountability.
• Conduct legal research and writing, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Develop and execute case strategy using applicable statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Maintain responsibility for calendaring, scheduling, and overall case progression.
• Handle litigation tasks, including discovery and depositions.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Negotiate settlements or develop negotiation skills.
• Provide guidance and support to paralegals and legal assistants.
• Ensure consistent client communication and high-quality service.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience practicing law.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Maryland Bar (DC bar a plus).
• Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, or similar client-facing practice areas.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively on a team.
• Experience managing deadlines and case workflows.
• Litigation and deposition experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently while adhering to firm processes.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland.
