  • Manage various aspects of litigation, including witness interviews, drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, interact with clients and opposing counsel, and attend court appearances.
  • Provide ongoing legal counsel and guidance to clients regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws, focusing on accessibility and disability accommodation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation, with a focus on accessibility laws and regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of Title III of the ADA and public accommodation accessibility issues (both physical and digital).
  • Experience with accessibility audits and managing external auditors for both brick-and-mortar locations and digital platforms (websites, mobile apps).
  • General employment litigation experience, including the ability to draft motions, pleadings, and various legal documents.
  • Experience with depositions, client interactions, and attending court appearances.
  • Strong advocacy skills, with a commitment to representing clients in complex legal matters.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in New York (state and federal courts).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Skills

  • Expertise in accessibility and disability accommodation laws, including ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and state/local regulations.

  • Experience with compliance counseling and policy development for clients.
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Life insurance and long-term disability coverage.
  • Paid time off and sick leave.
  • Retirement plan options with employer contributions.
