Job Title: Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney
Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented attorney to join its Workers' Compensation Defense team. This role involves working closely with a well-established group of litigators on complex matters related to workplace injury claims. Duties:
Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in all stages of workers’ compensation litigation
Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials before administrative law judges
Analyze medical records and employment documentation to prepare legal strategies
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
Advise clients on case developments, risk assessment, and resolution strategies
Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to manage caseload effectively
Participate in firm meetings, training sessions, and client development activities
Requirements:
Admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia or sitting for the 2025 Georgia Bar
At least one year of experience in workers’ compensation defense preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities
Professionalism and a commitment to high-quality client service
Education:
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
State Bar of Georgia membership in good standing (or pending admission)
Skills:
In-depth understanding of Georgia Workers’ Compensation statutes and procedures
Case management and litigation strategy development
Ability to interpret complex medical and employment information
Communication skills tailored for client interaction and courtroom presentation
Proficiency with legal practice technology and document management systems
Job Location:
Atlanta, GA
On-site presence expected for a minimum of four days per week
