A law firm in Rochester, NY, is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Career Associate Attorney to join their practice. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience defending employers in single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases, as well as ERISA litigation. The role requires occasional in-office presence for meetings, depositions, and court appearances. The successful candidate will have an excellent academic background, robust experience in employment litigation, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Duties:

• Defend employers in employment-related litigation, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
• Manage ERISA litigation and provide expert legal counsel on related employment issues.
• Draft, review, and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and legal arguments.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Develop and execute effective case strategies in collaboration with clients.
• Handle a diverse caseload efficiently, ensuring timely case progression and compliance with legal deadlines.
• Stay updated on developments in labor and employment law and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of experience in employment litigation matters.
• Proven experience in defending employers before agencies and courts.
• Excellent academic background with a strong understanding of labor and employment law.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated capacity to manage complex cases and meet deadlines effectively.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in the state of New York or eligibility to obtain admission.
