A law firm in Towson, MD is seeking an Estates and Trusts Attorney to manage and advise clients on estate planning and estate and trust administration matters. The attorney will collaborate with other attorneys in the firm, communicate with clients and other professionals, and supervise staff. Excellent organization, communication, and computer skills are required, and specific experience in estates and trusts is preferred. The firm offers a generous compensation and benefits package.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other attorneys to manage estate planning and estate and trust administration matters.
• Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate-related documents.
• Handle estate administration, guiding clients through the probate process and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Supervise and oversee the work of support staff involved in estate and trust administration.
• Communicate and coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals involved in estate and trust planning.
• Maintain strong client communication, providing updates and clear legal advice throughout the estate planning and administration process.
• Manage case files and ensure timely completion of all estate-related tasks and filings.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in Maryland estate and trust law to provide accurate and relevant legal advice to clients.
• Draft and review legal documents, including wills, trust agreements, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
• Represent clients in disputes related to trusts and estate administration as necessary.

Requirements:

• Experience in estates and trusts law is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estate and trust cases simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
• Proficiency with legal software and computer skills to manage client files and legal documents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys, staff, and external professionals in estate and trust administration.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive client information.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland State Bar is required.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Certification in Estate Planning, Trust Law, or related areas of law is beneficial but not required.
