Job Overview

A respected and award-winning plaintiff-side law firm with multiple offices across New Jersey is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its team. This position is ideal for a seasoned litigator who can manage a high-volume caseload, provide strong leadership, and advocate vigorously for clients. The attorney will handle a wide range of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle, truck, motorcycle, and slip-and-fall cases from intake to settlement or trial. Hybrid work flexibility is available.

Location

• Union, New Jersey

Duties

• Manage a caseload of approximately 150 personal injury files from intake through resolution

• Communicate directly with clients to assess legal needs and concerns

• Develop and implement case strategies to ensure favorable and cost-effective outcomes

• Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

• Conduct and defend depositions and oral hearings

• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and trials

• Collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants to prepare trial-ready case files

• Supervise two paralegals

• Review discovery documents and provide analysis and strategy recommendations

• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and resolve property damage claims

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plaintiff-side personal injury law

• Demonstrated experience handling all phases of personal injury litigation, including trial work

• Proficiency in managing high-volume caseloads independently

• Ability and willingness to travel to court as needed

• Hybrid work capability (office-based with some flexibility)

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey (required)

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Experience with case/document management systems (e.g., SmartAdvocate)

• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical abilities

• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills

• Effective communicator with the ability to lead and collaborate with team members

• Tenacity, professionalism, and client-centered approach

• Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred but not required
