Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Associate in New York City, NY. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and collaborate with other attorneys to represent clients in legal proceedings, draft and file legal documents, advise clients, and try cases.

Duties

• Maintain direct client contact and manage primary client relationships.
• Represent clients in court and before government agencies.
• Research, prepare, and draft legal documents on behalf of clients.
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law, including oversight of less-experienced attorneys.

Requirements

• JD from a top-15 law school.
• Admission to the NY State bar is required.
• At least 4 years of legal experience, preferably in criminal defense/investigations, or 3 years plus a judicial clerkship.
• Strong interest in criminal law and jury trial work.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build rapport with clients.
