A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have four to seven years of experience in handling complex litigation matters across various phases, including legal research, drafting, and trial preparation. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated cases and develop strategic advocacy skills.

Duties

• Handle litigation matters through all phases, including pre-litigation strategy, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
• Participate in conducting and defending depositions and preparing witnesses.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on complex disputes.
• Appear at hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and coordination with experts.
• Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and clients to develop litigation strategy.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party vendors.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 4-7 years of complex commercial litigation experience.
• Experience drafting and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Experience taking and defending depositions and managing cases through discovery.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
